This project showcases a modern medical clinic in Tangier, designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability, natural ventilation, and integration with the surrounding landscape. The architecture reflects a contemporary aesthetic while incorporating elements of traditional Moroccan design, particularly through the use of perforated metal screens that provide both privacy and shading.
The building’s cubic form is defined by a grid-like structural framework, which allows for large glass openings, enhancing daylight penetration and creating a sense of transparency. Adjustable perforated panels act as dynamic façades, offering flexibility in controlling sunlight and airflow while adding a layer of texture to the exterior.
The rooftop garden, adorned with lush greenery and pergolas, serves as a therapeutic space for patients and staff, reinforcing a biophilic approach to healing environments. The use of natural vegetation cascading over the upper terraces contributes to passive cooling and softens the rigid geometry of the building.
The site is thoughtfully positioned on a sloping terrain, ensuring an optimal relationship with the landscape. The clinic is seamlessly integrated into its environment, with surrounding greenery and palm trees enhancing the natural setting.
Overall, this clinic represents a fusion of contemporary design principles with contextual sensitivity, emphasizing patient well-being, energy efficiency, and an architectural language that pays homage to Tangier’s rich cultural and environmental heritage.
